1) What economic changes occurred post WWII?
The Taft- Harley act made it very hard for unions to grow and become stronger. It stated that union only signs weren't allowed. After the war, there was a surplus of products so there was a huge rise in the middle class. New inventions were made and the middle class could all afford them because of the growth of prosperity. Women also benefited economically and many gained white collar jobs. Traditional housewife role and the working woman role were the inspiration for the feminist movement. Major industries that took off was plastic, aerospace, RD, or research and development. They want to discover the "new thing" first. Companies such as Disney and McDonald's grew during this time.

Most African Americans migrated into the cities while the whites moved to the suburbs. The business also moved from the cities. Many people moved to the sunbelt, the southern part of America becAuse of better weather and low taxes. A lot of federal money moved to the sun belt. North was called the rust belt( Chicago). There was a baby bloomer period when there were many babies. huge population growth came afterwards, affecting the school system, the baby food industry, music industry etc.
